| Furney's Nursery
has deep roots in Des Moines that go all the way back to 1929
when Edith and Everett Furney moved here from Seattle to start
an orchard, selling peaches along the side of the road on old
Edith also had a beautiful garden and began
finding plants for many of the customers at their fruit stand,
charging just enough to cover her expenses. Eventually,
so many people were coming for the plants that Edith and
Everett Furney decided to start a nursery. Furney's
Nursery was born!
As Des Moines and the city of Seattle grew, so
did Furney's, becoming the fabulous nursery it is today!
Furney's Nursery now has dozens of greenhouses on over 13
acres here in Des Moines. We also grow lots of plants on
150 acres of farmland in Oregon's Willamette Valley.
Furney's Nursery has become the finest garden
center in South King county by providing our customers with
great plants, garden supplies, and expert advice, just like
Edith and Everett started doing many years ago!
